The Alphonso Davies hype train cannot be derailed.
The 16 year old phenom scored to help the Vancouver Whitecaps to a 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Thursday night, sending the Whitecaps to the CONCACAF Champions League Semi-Finals.
Playing in the second leg of the series in Vancouver, the Whitecaps finished with a 3-1 aggregate victory after a 1-1 draw in New York in February.
The starting 11 saw David Ousted in net, with Jake Nerwinski, Kendall Waston, Tim Parker and Jordan Harvey in the backfield. Matias Laba and Russell Teibert took up shop in the defensive midfield, while Marcel De Jong, Davies, Kekuta Manneh, and newcomer Brek Shea made up the attack.
