Major League Soccer revealed today the ballot for the 2017 MLS Newcomer of the Year award, which includes up to two nominees from each club.
The Vancouver Whitecaps FC player on the ballot is Yordy Reyna.
Reyna, 24, joined the ‘Caps in the preseason and impressed in limited action before suffering a fifth metatarsal fracture of his left foot, keeping him out of action until July. Reyna’s return has coincided with Vancouver’s rise up the Western Conference table.
The Peruvian attacking midfielder has five goals, all game-winners, and three assists in just nine starts and 16 appearances.
