For the second time this year, Jake Nerwinski has been named to the MLS Team of the Week.
The rookie right back earned the honours after recording two assists and a game-high seven clearances in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Real Salt Lake at BC Place.
First, Nerwinski delivered a perfect low cross to Cristian Techera, who opened the scoring in the 29th minute. Then, he helped set up the eventual game-winner in the 64th minute, winning the ball off Joao Plata before feeding Bernie Ibini, whose powerful cross was met by a diving Yordy Reyna header at the back post.
