In late 2018 the Vancouver Whitecaps named Marc Dos Santos head coach. He set out to rebuild the team around a set of principles and a new tactical philosophy. Then, and there is no nice way of putting this, he fell flat on his face in his first year as head coach.
Central to his plan was supposed to be Jon Erice. A player the Vancouver Whitecaps jettisoned today after only a year. On March 1st 2019 the Whitecaps uploaded a video to their YouTube channel entitled “All Access: Show up Every Day.” It was intended to be stirring, and at the time it kind of was, but in hindsight it looks quaint.
