Canada Soccer announced on Friday that five graduates from the Whitecaps FC Girls Elite REX program, in partnership with BC Soccer, have been selected to a women's national Excel camp in Burnaby, British Columbia from August 11 to 16. The six-day camp will continue Canada’s preparations for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2020.
Among the players coming from the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System are goalkeeper Emily McCue, midfielder Allison Remington, winger Mya Jones, and strikers Teni Akindoju and Tanya Boychuk.
This will mark the first national camp with Rhian Wilkinson officially in charge as Canada Soccer’s women’s national U-20 and U-17 team head coach.
