Vancouver Whitecaps FC launched the first of two annual BC HPP Academy Centre Challenge events last weekend at the club’s regional training centre at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC.
Almost 300 players from the club’s academy centre network in BC were invited to take part. Over the course of the weekend, players were put through training with top academy centre staff, evaluation matches against other players from the academy centre network, and the opportunity to attend the ‘Caps exciting 4-1 MLS season finale win over Portland Timbers at BC Place.
Whitecaps FC will hold two BC Academy Centre Challenges per year, one in the fall and one in the spring.
