MEXICO CITY, MX – The Whitecaps FC development group wrapped up their trip to Mexico with a match versus the U-23 side of Liga MX powerhouse Club America on Friday, falling 2-1 in a tight contest.
The home team opened the scoring through a penalty kick on 24 minutes when the ‘Caps were called for a handball in the box.
The remainder of the half the Canadian side came on strong. After a free kick in the 26th minute, striker Theo Bair hit a low drive that was saved by the goalkeeper.
