The Whitecaps FC Girls Elite REX squad, in partnership with BC Soccer, finished the 2019 FIFA/Blue Stars Youth Cup in style with a 1-0 win over legendary Italian club Inter Milan on Friday to secure third place at the tournament.
The Canadian side, representing the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System, came back strong after a close battle and heartbreaking 1-0 defeat in the semifinals against defending champions BSC Young Boys on Thursday. The bronze medal winning goal came in the fourth minute courtesy of Ally Remington.
After a couple more days in Zurich, the team will return home and prepare for the end of the season.
