So far this season the Vancouver Whitecaps have experimented with Alphonso Davies in a left back role. The fan reaction to this has been, to put it mildly, less than positive. With this in mind, I think it’s worth looking in to whether or not this is a good thing. There are two aspects of this problem that must be considered. Firstly, weather it is good for Davies’ development to play at left back and, secondly, weather or not it improves the team. This article will examine both of these points.
