Vancouver Canucks: Why Jim Benning shouldn’t make any more trades

Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning is one of the most difficult men to figure out right now ahead of the trade deadline.

He has good incentive to be a seller at the deadline, as more young assets would help Vancouver accelerate the rebuild. Benning also has good reason to buy at the deadline, as he tries to get this team into the postseason for the first time in four years.

So many options, so little time for Mr. Benning. He’s already made a handful of moves, shipping out Anders Nilsson, Sam Gagner and Michael Del Zotto, which netted Luke Schenn and Ryan Spooner in return.
