Through the first two games of 2018-19, the Vancouver Canucks don’t look a whole lot different than the team that went 31-40-11 last season.
There’s a rookie sensation in town (Elias Pettersson now, Brock Boeser last year), more speed and on-an-off performances from Jacob Markstrom. The defensive play looks as mediocre as last season, too.
Vancouver defeated the Calgary Flames 5-2 in their season opener last Wednesday, but followed it up with a 7-4 stinker road loss on Saturday. The Canucks begin their five-game road trip in Raleigh to take on the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday.
