If the Vancouver Canucks are going to succeed through what’s been a painful rebuilding process, they’ll certainly need more out of their goaltending.
Jacob Markstrom, Anders Nilsson and Thatcher Demko (one start), combined for a .908 save percentage and 2.94 goals against average in 2017-18. The year before, Markstrom, Ryan Miller and Richard Bachman combined for a .913 save percentage and 2.74 goals against average.
Without a doubt, the Canucks need much-better goaltending, and the organization and fans can only hope that Demko can live up to the hype as the next great netminder.
