Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse for the Vancouver Canucks they did.
After not appearing in today’s morning skate, News 1130’s Rick Dhaliwal reported that Chris Tanev is out for 2-3 weeks with a strained groin.
The injury was suffered early in the third period in Wednesday night’s 7-1 loss to the Preds after an awkward collision along the boards with forward Austin Watson.
Tanev appeared in just one shift later in the third period; gingerly skating off the ice after a breakout pass.
The 27-year-old Ontario native has appeared in 25 games this season; averaging 20:51 a night.
