The Vancouver Canucks exceeded expectations in the first month of the season, closing out October with a 6-3-2 record — before falling to the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday.
Right now, the Canucks are the seventh seed in the Western Conference — thanks in large part to awful starts from Pacific Division powerhouses like the Anaheim Ducks and Edmonton Oilers. Of course, there are still 70 games left — and the Canucks have to clean up some woes on offence and defence if they are to fight for a playoff spot.
But fans can’t be disappointed with what they’ve seen.
