The Vancouver Canucks announced Tuesday that forward Sam Gagner has been loaned back to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, perhaps ending his tenure with the NHL club.
Vancouver lent Gagner to the Marlies before the season began in October. He scored an impressive 15 points in as many games, and the Canucks brought him back up for their Nov. 11 home contest against the Winnipeg Jets.
With injuries to forwards Brock Boeser, Brandon Sutter, Jay Beagle and Sven Baertschi, the Canucks needed to bring somebody up.
