There’s no sugarcoating it — the Vancouver Canucks have been going through yet another dreadful season — and things have to change around here. Unfortunately, the consensus seems to be that general manager Jim Benning failed at the trade deadline, not securing any much-needed draft picks.
The Canucks are looking like a team that will finish in the bottom-five for the third consecutive year. In fact, it’s going to be just the third time in history where Vancouver misses the playoffs for (at least), three straight seasons.
Vancouver hasn’t been much better than last year, and that’s despite owning a Calder Trophy candidate in Brock Boeser, another 20-goal year from Daniel Sedin and the adding of more speed to the roster.
