The Vancouver Canucks have made a call to the Utica Comets to bring up forward Mike Zalewski ahead of Friday’s match-up with the Edmonton Oilers.
The 24-year-old forward has played five games with the Comets this year and has one assist with eight penalty minutes.
The Canucks had to make a corresponding roster move to make room for Zalewski on the 23-man roster and Chris Tanev will be heading to the injured reserve.
There was some thought that Tanev might be available for this weekend’s games but he was in a walking boot yesterday at Rogers Arena.
