The Vancouver Canucks have just 10 defencemen under contract for the 2019/20 season. They have a further four about to become Restricted Free Agents, and three who are impending Unrestricted Free Agents. Who will be back next season? And who could join them via free agency, the draft and/or trade?
There are some definite gaps in the team’s defence corps, and with General Manager Jim Benning under pressure to learn from his main mistake of the summer 2018 and not bring back the same defence, there will surely be changes afoot.
