Every time this generation of Dallas Stars come to Vancouver, there is a little extra on the line for Vancouver. It was only two years ago that the Stars’ top-liners Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin went on the radio and offered up a slew of juvenile insults at the Sedins — two players whose class and pedigree should be beyond question.
The twins’ response – “it says more about them than it does about us” – was vintage Sedin: mature, measured, and dead-on. But Canucks fans have long memories, and at least one of us remembers that while Benn and Seguin are great players, their combined career points (530+438=968) is still less than either one of the Sedins (990+1023=2013).
