The Vancouver Canucks are playing some of their best hockey in recent memory, having won all three games since 2018 first round pick Quinn Hughes made his debut last Thursday.
It’s obviously disappointing that this team will be enduring a fourth straight non-playoff season, especially because they were in the race right up until early March. The injuries piled up, key players endured slumps and before they knew it, the Canucks had fallen out of it.
But this season was about making progress in another rebuilding year. Elias Pettersson is going to win the Calder Trophy, while Brock Boeser and Bo Horvat took major strides this season.
