Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning previously worked with the Boston Bruins as Peter Chiarelli’s right-hand man, and now he may be returning the favor to his former boss.
According to Pierre LeBrun of TSN and The Athletic, the Canucks have talked to Chiarelli about possibly joining the front office. Vancouver isn’t the only team that has interest, however. LeBrun added that Chiarelli is having discussions with other teams.
Chiarelli was fired by the Edmonton Oilers back in January — a month before the trade deadline — ending a four-year reign with the organization.
