Vancouver Canucks news: Elias Pettersson and Calder, Troy Stecher to WHC

Elias Pettersson had a rookie season like no other for the Vancouver Canucks. He broke the franchise record for points in a rookie season, previously held by Pavel Bure, and now has received a well-warranted Calder Trophy Nomination.

The Calder Trophy is awarded to the National Hockey League’s top rookie. Joining Pettersson as nominees for the award are Buffalo Sabres defenceman Rasmus Dahlin, and St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington. Dahlin turned 19 just 14 days ago, and Binnington turned 25 years old 290 days ago.

The NHL unveiled the Calder finalists on their website.
