The Vancouver Canucks entered Monday with a 5-3 record, good enough for the final wild card spot in the Western Conference.
Vancouver defeated the New York Rangers 3-2 on Sunday afternoon, thanks to another stellar performance from goalie Jacob Markstrom. The Canucks are just two points behind the Anaheim Ducks and the Vegas Golden Knights, who are with with 12 points apiece for second in the Pacific Division.
We’re only eight games into the 2019-20 season, but the Canucks are already displaying more speed and overall structure. And the team has to be encouraged with the way Markstrom and Thatcher Demko have performed in the crease.
