When Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning gave Loui Eriksson a six-year contract worth $36 million, he was hoping to have a winger who’d easily score 20-30 goals with the Sedin twins.
Eriksson didn’t finish out the 2016-17 or 2017-18 seasons, due to knee and rib injuries, respectively. Through his first two years in Vancouver, Eriksson had just 21 goals and 47 points in 115 games.
Now, Sportsnet’s Rick Dhaliwal is reporting that Eriksson is week-to-week with a bruise in his leg, and it’s unknown if the 33-year-old will be ready for the Oct.
