Sunday night was a reminder that life simply isn’t fair for the Vancouver Canucks. Not only did they lose 6-1 at home to the Calgary Flames, but it’s possible that their best forward joins this team’s best defencemen and two other great scorers on the injured reserve.
Rookie Brock Boeser left the game after blocking a shot, and had troubles getting to the bench. According to Sportsnet’s Dan Murphy, Boeser was seen on crutches after the game. Great. As if losing Bo Horvat, Sven Baertschi, Chris Tanev and Brandon Sutter wasn’t brutal enough already.
