Vancouver Canucks: Lack of secondary scoring remains principal problem

The Vancouver Canucks are only in the playoff race right now because the young trio of Elias Pettersson, Bo Horvat and Brock Boeser are scoring in bunches.

On Saturday, none of Vancouver’s top three forwards registered a point. Predictably, the result was a shutout home loss to the Winnipeg Jets. The dagger came when Mark Scheifele rifled home the game winner with a minute and a half to go, and the Canucks went home empty-handed.

Winnipeg is the top team in the Western Conference right now, thanks in large part to their productive secondary scoring.
