If Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning had a mulligan, he most definitely would not have signed Loui Eriksson to a six-year deal worth $36 million in the 2016 offseason.
Halfway through the contract, and Eriksson has only tallied 32 goals and 76 points in 196 games for the Canucks. Last month, Eriksson expressed frustrations about his role under head coach Travis Green — an obvious sign that he’s not entirely happy here on the west coast.
Last week, TSN’s Darren Dreger sounded off on trade rumours centering around Eriksson and Milan Lucic of the Edmonton Oilers.
