The Vancouver Canucks probably wouldn’t have defeated the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night if it weren’t for the incredible play off 2018 first-round pick, Quinn Hughes.
The Michigan Wolverines product was well worth the wait; he played 15:36 in his NHL debut and registered an assist on Brock Boeser’s goal in the second period. Of course, Hughes was the only who made that whole play happen.
Hughes then took over the 3-on-3 overtime frame, and the Kings had absolutely no answer for the 5-foot-10 rearguard. The Canucks missed a couple of prime chances to win the game, but Tanner Pearson‘s sneaky shootout goal on Jonathan Quick was enough to pick up the victory.
