The Vancouver Canucks probably can’t wait for preseason to end, in more ways than one. Like every NHL team, they’re surely thrilled to finally play some meaningful hockey again.
That’s good, because they have a lot to work and need to refocus before the puck drops on Oct. 7 — their season opener against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. Judging by how they’ve fared in the preseason, the Canucks haven’t showed that they’re even ready for that game.
This preseason actually had quite a bit of hype.
Many fans were hoping that young defencemen Olli Juolevi and Jordan Subban would at least show some maturity and flashes, but they both disappointed — with a capital “D”.
