For the rebuilding Vancouver Canucks, earning a point against a streaking Detroit Red Wings team at Little Caesars Arena shouldn’t warrant much complaining.
But the Canucks simply let this one get away, and they began displaying habits that cost them plenty of games last season. After building up a 2-0 lead in the second period, the Canucks couldn’t contain the hungry and determined Red Wings, who erased the deficit and forced a shootout.
Detroit won the skills competition, snapping Vancouver’s three-game winning streak. It’s not the worst start on a six-game road trip, but the Canucks can’t be too happy with how this game got away.
