Vancouver Canucks: Brock Boeser Might Turn Pro This Year

According to Sportsnet’s John Shannon, the Vancouver Canucks changed their mind on how they will handle NCAA prospect Brock Boeser. As Shannon noted during the broadcast of last night’s game against the Los Angeles Kings, Canucks general manager Jim Benning wants to convince Boeser to sign an NHL entry-level contract this summer.

It wasn’t long ago that Benning said he made a decision on both Boeser and Thatcher Demko, the decision being that Boeser will stay in university while Demko turns pro.

While the news is nothing more than speculation at this point, Sportsnet’s Thomas Drance also noted that Boeser seemed very open about the possibility to join the Canucks organization this year in a talk last week.
