The Vancouver Canucks saw little offensive production from their blue line last season, and perhaps no defender struggled as much as Ben Hutton, who was often in the doghouse of head coach Travis Green.
Hutton produced zero goals and a mere six assists in 61 games last season, and his ice time per game was trimmed by over two minutes compared to 2016-17. He was a frequent healthy scratch and became the subject of trade rumours in the offseason.
But the Canucks are ready to give the 25-year-old Hutton another chance to play a key role in 2018-19.
