Vancouver Canucks fans got their wish once team president Trevor Linden confessed that this team was indeed “rebuilding“. So that means the upcoming 2017-18 season is one where we don’t truly know what to expect.
From 2002-2013, the Canucks were a powerhouse in the Western Conference that constantly vied for Stanley Cup championships. But from 2014 to 2017, the Canucks were a team “rebuilding on the fly”.
Instead of tearing it all down, the Canucks tried adding veterans like Ryan Miller, Radim Vrbata and Loui Eriksson. By this, the Canucks wanted to be competitive enough to make the playoffs, yet also wanting to get younger as they prepared for the post-Sedin era.
