For the first time in well over a decade, the Vancouver Canucks best player(s) will not feature guys named Daniel or Henrik Sedin. A new player stepped forward last season to claim the tag of being this team’s best player.
The Canucks also got some surprise breakout seasons from a couple of players that weren’t expected to emerge as potential top-six forwards, and now new head coach Travis Green gets to build his lineups around them.
And though it’s quite clear that the Sedins are both past their playing primes, they do remain key players for this team in 2017-18.
