Speaking of great pro football head coaches, Bill Belichick once infamously exclaimed that “Stats are for losers”. With all due respect to Mr. Belichick, stats are important, because they’re a telling story as to how the Canucks have struggled so much after years of dominance.
After over a decade of dominance in the Western Conference, the Canucks have missed the playoffs in three of the past four years — including a 28th-place finish in 2016 followed up by a 29th-place season in 2017.
