When you have three elite forwards as your team’s prime assets, like the Vancouver Canucks do with Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin and Loui Eriksson, you have two options. Either you stack your top line and hope that one line can score enough goals to carry you to the playoffs or you spread them out, to create the scoring depth Vancouver so desperately needs.
With the Sedin twins and Eriksson, the situation is obviously special, given their history with the Swedish national team. Last time the three played together, they led Sweden to a world championship title in their own country in 2013.
