Things haven’t gone right for the Vancouver Canucks in December, as the injuries and losses have mounted to a team that was hanging on in the playoff race through the first quarter of the season.
Star centre Bo Horvat suffered a leg fracture and was ruled out for up to six weeks, while winger Sven Baertschi suffered a broken jaw that could keep him out for a similar time frame. Top defenceman Chris Tanev is out two-to-three weeks with a groin injury. Brandon Sutter has yet to return from an upper body injury he suffered last month.
