Third time's the charm as Canucks hold late lead, beat Sharks 4-2

SAN JOSE, Calif. – After so many third-period losses this year, the Vancouver Canucks lost their script.

The National Hockey League team appeared ready to blow their 12th game of the year when leading after two periods, except they scored the winning goal after surrendering the tying one in the third period.

Dan Hamhuis’ first goal of the season at 10:28 of the final period, on beautiful power-play passing by Bo Horvat and Jared McCann, broke a 2-2 tie and sent the Canucks on to a 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks and a measure of pride after Vancouver kicked away two third-period leads against the same team earlier in the week.
