The drama just ain’t what it used to be in the NHL.
Don’t get me wrong. Speed and skill is at an all-time high. The game is arguably more exciting that it’s ever been.
What it is lacking is the bite and intensity of player-to-player rivalries. Drew Doughty and Matthew Tkachuk had a pretty good one going, but battles such as that one are almost non-existent in today’s NHL.
We shower some love for Doughty and his antics (hope you love that one, Canucks nation) because hey, hockey is here for entertainment after all.
