Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning has had a pretty busy offseason, to say the very least. After a productive draft weekend in Chicago, he moved to sign free agents Sam Gagner, Michael Del Zotto, Anders Nilsson and Patrick Wiercioch.
Benning then re-signed depth forwards Reid Boucher, Michael Chaput and Brendan Gaunce. And yet, he still couldn’t put his feet up for the summer. Benning has been busy trying to lock up 2017 team scoring leader Bo Horvat to a long-term extension.
