A couple of days ago, the Ottawa Sun's Bruce Garrioch reported:
The Canucks are trying to make room for Jacob Markstrom and GM Jim Benning is seeking a second-round pick in return.
That second round pick is something Jim Benning does not have going into this year's Draft, as he traded away this year's 2nd rounder to Calgary for Sven Baertschi back in March. I don't believe Benning has a third round pick either in this Draft as he traded that away in the Ryan Kesler deal.
