Quick Hit: Shinkaruk sent down; Grenier called up

The Vancouver Canucks have recalled Alex Grenier from the Utica Comets. He replaces Hunter Shinkaruk, who was sent back down after playing his first NHL game on Monday.

Grenier, 24, has never played an NHL game, but has impressed in past Canucks camps, and General Manager Jim Benning has praised his strong physical game.

At 6'3", Grenier brings an element of physicality that Shinkaruk can't. If he's called upon against Winnipeg this evening, that physicality will be important versus a heavy-hitting Jets team.
