The New York Rangers were frustrated that they couldn’t find a way to solve Vancouver Canucks goaltender Jacob Markstrom in the third period of this game. The Canucks controlled the majority of play through the first two periods, but nearly blew their three-goal lead in the third and final frame. Here’s what else stood out to me in today’s game.
Markstrom returns and saves the Canucks
Thatcher Demko was solid in the three games the Canucks needed him to play while Jacob Markstrom tended to a family matter. He was granted a leave of absence by the Canucks, and rejoined his team yesterday, backing up Demko in the 1-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils.
