Quadrelli Report: Canucks lose barn burner to Penguins

The Western Conference playoff race is a close one, and the Vancouver Canucks haven’t done themselves any favours in their efforts to separate themselves from the pack. Last night’s loss to the Penguins leaves the Canucks with two wins through the first five games of their six game road trip. Here’s what I noticed last night.

A surprise start for Demko

Thatcher Demko was the Canucks’ best player in their 2-1 loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday night. He wasn’t scheduled to start last night’s game, but after Jacob Markstrom fell ill shortly before puck drop, Demko was named the game’s starter.
