Offseason Moves Paying Early Dividends in NHL’s 2019-20 Season

There are always offseason free agent and trades that don’t work out. Thankfully there are moves that go as planned. Here, we look at some moves that are working out so far.

The summer of 2019 saw several notable stars change teams via trade or free agency.

Time will tell how well these deals will work out over the long run. Some of the moves, such as the Nashville Predators signing Matt Duchene and the Edmonton Oilers acquiring winger James Neal, have already started to pay off.

Several lesser deals, however, are panning out much better than anticipated through the early going.
