ANAHEIM, Calif. — Unlike the friend and teammate who beat him here by a year, Kevin Bieksa never wanted to leave Vancouver or the Canucks. He loved the city, loved his team.
Now he is away from the glare of the media spotlight and in the glare of the Southern California sun.
“It’s been very hot so far; it’s been 100 degrees or more,” Bieksa said Monday morning. “(My kids are) in the shade at recess and lunchtime, trying to hide a bit while all the other kids are running around playing. They’re getting used to it.
