Though there have been some move where Vancouver Canucks GM Jim Benning deserves some criticism, he does deserve some credit for how his plan has been working out.
Approaching the end of January, the Vancouver Canucks sit atop the NHL's tightly-contested Pacific Division with 62 points. Led by rising stars Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser, and Quinn Hughes, and veterans such as Bo Horvat and J.T Miller, the Canucks look like a legitimate playoff contender.
The credit belongs to general manager Jim Benning. Until recently, however, he was often a target for derision by Canucks fans.
