BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Vancouver Canucks are starting a seven-game road trip. Their general manager is on one even longer than that.
Jim Benning figures he will see a game almost every day during his NHL team’s two-week eastern road swing that begins this morning in Buffalo.
Benning started his trip started Thursday when he watched the Sabres fall 4-1 to the Tampa Bay Lightning. After taking in the Canucks’ practice Friday afternoon, he and head coach Willie Desjardins hopped into their rental car, making the three-hour drive to Utica for the AHL Comets-Toronto Marlies game.
Benning even has some doubleheaders scheduled.
