Jets lower boom on visitors’ tailspin

WINNIPEG – The was the longest trip for one win in Vancouver Canucks’ history.
The Canucks finished their seven-game National Hockey League marathon with one win, losing 4-1 Wednesday to the Winnipeg Jets on the 12th day of their season-long trip.
Vancouver’s only win was eight days ago in Columbus and they go home at 1-4-2, having surrendered ground in the standings to all its rivals.
It was the Jets’ first win in seven games, firmly secured by Mark Scheifele’s rebound goal that made it 3-1 at 17:15 of the third period after Canuck defenceman Dan Hamhuis lost the puck in front of his net.
