With money to spend and holes to fill the Canucks are in a position where they can make competitive offers to whichever name they want. But what if those names aren't interested in Vancouver? What if the price tag of mid-tier players becomes so high that they would affect the ability to re-sign an Elias Pettersson?
It’s July 1st and Artemi Panarin and Erik Karlsson have signed too other organizations. Tyler Myers and Jake Gardiner have re-upped with Buffalo and Toronto respectively and other high-profile free agents are either too old or don't fit the Canucks future plans.
